PHYSICAL FACTOR AFFECTING BACTERIAL GROWTH

 By-Rahul Shakya

Following factor affecting bacterial growth

  1-Temperature

  • It is the most important factor that determines the rate of growth, multiplication and death of all living organisms.
  • At high temp. damage microbes by denaturing proteins and enzymes of microorganisms.
  • At very low temperature membranes also solidify and enzymes also do not function properly.

  2-PH Concentration

  • The PH is must essential for multiplication of microorganisms.
  • The microbial growth is strongly affected by the PH of the medium.

   3-WATER

  • Water used as solvent in which molecules are dissolved.
  • Bacteria cells consists of 80%of water

   4-LIGHT

  • Phototrophs bacteria usually take or requires light source for survival

  • That's all about Physical factor affecting bacterial growth.
